Remove GPS Photo Metadata

Photos can contain more than the image you see. GPS coordinates, capture time, phone model, camera settings, and author details may remain inside a JPEG when you share it. Remove GPS Photo Metadata helps you inspect those details and create a separate verified clean copy on your device.

SCAN PHOTO METADATA
Choose your own JPEG photos and review a clear privacy summary. See whether GPS location, capture time, device details, author information, and camera settings are present before making any changes.

REMOVE SENSITIVE DETAILS
Use the recommended Safe to share preset or decide which metadata groups to remove:
• GPS location and related positioning tags
• Capture date and time
• Phone and camera model details
• Author and software information
• Camera settings

KEEP THE ORIGINAL UNTOUCHED
The app creates a separate clean copy. Your original photo is never overwritten or deleted. Processing happens locally, and the app does not require broad access to your photo library.

VERIFY THE CLEAN COPY
A clean result is shown only after the output is reopened and the requested metadata groups are checked again. The result screen explains what was removed and confirms that the original remains untouched.

SHARE WITH MORE PRIVACY
Share the verified JPEG copy through the standard Android share sheet. Only the clean copy is shared, with temporary read access for the app you choose.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Photo processing stays on your device
• No account or cloud upload is required
• No live location permission is used
• No contact, microphone, or camera access
• Originals remain unchanged

IMPORTANT FORMAT NOTES
Verified metadata cleaning currently supports JPEG photos. Other formats may contain metadata that requires different processing and are not presented as successfully cleaned. Some Android photo providers may hide location metadata unless you grant contextual access to the original media item. If details cannot be read reliably, the app reports that limitation instead of calling the photo clean.

Removing metadata can reduce accidental exposure, but it cannot remove information already visible in the image itself, such as a street sign, face, document, or recognizable landmark. Apps and social platforms may also add their own information after sharing.

Choose a photo, review what it reveals, remove the details you do not want to share, and create a verified clean copy with Remove GPS Photo Metadata.
