Description by Nuko(from Google Play)
Rename is a simple batch file renamer. Pick your files, set a few rules, check a live preview of every new name, and rename them all at once. Changed your mind? Undo restores the original names.
KEY FEATURES
■ Live preview before anything changes Every file shows its current name and its new name side by side. Nothing is touched until you tap Rename.
■ Set a brand-new name Don't want to keep the old name? Switch to "Set new name", type the name you want and the app numbers a batch for you (Kyoto_001, Kyoto_002…). The extension stays the same.
■ Prefix and suffix Add text to the start or the end of every name. The file extension is always kept.
■ Find & replace Replace part of every file name at once — for example turn "DSC00184.JPG" into "Kyoto_184.JPG". It works on the name only, never on the extension.
■ Sequential numbering Number your files in order. Choose the start number, the number of digits (001, 002, 003…) and whether the number goes at the start or at the end of the name.
■ Protection against duplicate and empty names If two files would end up with the same name, or a name would become empty, Rename warns you on the spot and blocks the batch until you fix it.
■ One-tap undo Restore the last batch to the original names.
■ Any file type Photos, videos, documents, music — anything you can open from the system file picker. Pick files from any folder you can reach, as long as the storage provider allows renaming.
■ 9 languages Japanese, English, Spanish, French, Thai, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean. The app follows your device language automatically.
FREE AND PRO • Free: rename up to 50 files per batch. A small ad banner is shown at the bottom of the screen. • Pro (one-time purchase): no limit on files per batch, add every file in a folder at once, and no ads.
GOOD TO KNOW On some Android versions, renaming photos and videos that live in media folders may ask for a one-time permission in a system dialog. Confirm it and the rename continues.
PRIVACY Everything happens on your device. File names and contents are never uploaded to any server, and the app does not collect personal data itself. The only network activity comes from Google Play (for the Pro purchase) and, in the free version, Google AdMob (which shows the ad banner and may use your device's advertising ID). Buying Pro removes the ads.
