Description
⭐ Resistor Color Code Calculator – read any resistor in seconds ⭐ Tap the color bands and get the resistance value instantly in Ω, kΩ and MΩ. ✅ ad-free ✅ no sign-up ✅ no tracking
► HOW IT WORKS 1. Select how many bands your resistor has from the menu bar: 3, 4, 5 or 6 bands. 2. Hold the resistor with the larger gap between the bands on the right side. 3. Select the colors one by one and instantly get the resistance value including tolerance.
► WHAT THIS RESISTOR CALCULATOR GIVES YOU - Resistor color code calculator for 3, 4, 5 and 6 band resistors - Resistance value in ohm, kiloohm and megaohm - Tolerance and temperature coefficient at a glance - Resistor color code chart always at hand - Large, clearly readable color bands – even in poor light - No ads, no tracking, no unnecessary permissions - Fast and lightweight: opens instantly, works without an account
► RESISTOR COLOR CODE CHART (digit bands) Black = 0 • Brown = 1 • Red = 2 • Orange = 3 • Yellow = 4 Green = 5 • Blue = 6 • Violet = 7 • Grey = 8 • White = 9
► MULTIPLIER BAND Black ×1 • Brown ×10 • Red ×100 • Orange ×1k • Yellow ×10k Green ×100k • Blue ×1M • Gold ×0.1 • Silver ×0.01
► TOLERANCE BAND Brown ±1% • Red ±2% • Green ±0.5% • Blue ±0.25% • Gold ±5% • Silver ±10%
► READING THE BANDS CORRECTLY 3 bands: two digits and a multiplier, tolerance ±20%. 4 bands: two digits, multiplier and tolerance – the classic with ±5% (gold) or ±10% (silver). 5 bands: three digits, multiplier and tolerance – precision resistors from ±1%. 6 bands: like a 5 band resistor plus a temperature coefficient band in ppm/K.
► WHO IS IT FOR? Electronics engineers, electricians, students, apprentices, technicians, model makers and makers: everyone working with a soldering iron, a breadboard, Arduino or Raspberry Pi. Whether hobby electronics or professional repair work, this resistance calculator saves you from looking up the resistor color code chart every single time.
► PRACTICAL TIPS - Gold or silver is almost always the tolerance band and belongs on the right. - On faded components, use neutral light – red and orange, brown and red are easy to mix up. - Verify the calculated value with a multimeter if the resistor was already soldered in. - Remember Ohm's law: U = R × I. From the resistance value you get current and voltage directly. - E-series such as E12, E24 or E96 define which nominal values exist at all – an odd value is often a misread band.
► FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How do I read a 4 band resistor? The first two bands are the digits, the third band is the multiplier and the fourth band shows the tolerance.
How do I read a 5 band resistor? Three digit bands, one multiplier and one tolerance band. 5 band resistors are usually precision resistors.
Which side do I start reading from? The tolerance band sits slightly further away from the other bands. Keep it on the right and read from left to right.
Why does my measured value differ from the calculated one? The color code gives the nominal value. The tolerance tells you how far the real resistance value may deviate from it.
► COMPLETELY AD-FREE No banners, no videos, no paywall. The resistor color code calculator is small, fast and opens instantly – so you can focus on your circuit.

Probably a useful app for a while until you memorize the colors, had it on my phone for years and never used it.

Not perfect! Why isn't Golden in the third position in Five Rings?

The app is great, but since the recent update it has ads for another app and that sucks
