Rich Food App is a free app used to identify the Nutrient Rich Food for vegetarian and non vegetarian people for all ages. This app provide rich food for 32 Nutrients.

Numerous nutrients and food components are needed for normal growth, development and body function. Essentials nutrients those that the body cannot produce itself in adequate amounts must be obtained from foods. Nutrient function in many ways to build, maintain and protect body structure and systems to promote health.

All food data's are based on "India Raw" and "USDA SR 28" Databases.

Foods are sorted in descending order of Nutrient values (for 100gm of food) for the selected Nutrient. User can see near the nutrient value in bracket the percentage of RDA satisfied (in short % of Daily Value ie % of DV).
In addition to selected Nutrient Rich food values(Ex:Protein Rich), all the 32 Nutrient values and Calorie values also can be seen.

Note :

The percentage of RDA for every Nutrient values (% of DV) for each food is calculated based upon the Recommended values of Macro & Micro Nutrients (RDA) for male in the age group 31 – 50
(with Calorie requirement of 2000 ). The Kilocalorie value 2000 is taken as standard for the calculation of the percentage of RDA of the three Major Macro Nutrients and SFA, MUFA and PUFA. This standard for Macro & Micro Nutrient values are given in the bottom of the Rich Food Table.
For easy comparison of Nutrient values between the foods, the Percentage of RDA (% of DV) for each Nutrient is arrived. For selected Food Category, the descending order of the Particular Nutrient values and their Food Names are arrived by selecting the name of the Nutrient in the “Rich Food by” Combo Box in the Rich Food Table and click “Go”. User can see the sorted Rich Food names and their Nutrient values and Nutrient’s percentage of RDA. Using this Rich Food Tool, for the selected Food Category (Like Milk & Milk Products, Animal Meat …..etc. ) user can select the required Rich Food.

For example the value of Vit D for “Milk Whole Cow” is → 1.22 mcg

Vit D Nutrient RDA value is → 10 mcg

So the Percentage (%) is → 1.22 X 100 = 12.2 %

Like this for all Macro and Micro Nutrients, the percentage of RDA for each food arrived.

How to use this app:-

Select the required Food Database by selecting the Database name in the “Database” Combo Box. The following Databases are available:
1. India Raw

2. USDA SR 28 Standard Data’s

After selecting the Food Database name, the Food Category name is to be selected in the “Food Category” Combo Box.
Then select the Nutrient Name in the “Rich Food By” Combo Box. Then click “Go”.
Now user can see the foods in the Category are listed according to the selected Nutrient values in descending order.


Note :

To identify easily the Nutrients’ Percentage Range in the Table, the following Colour is given for the Percentage Range.

0 % to 2 % White Colour
2 % to 4.99% Yellow Colour
5 % to 9.99 % Dark Blue Colour
10 % to 14.99 % Green Colour
15 % to 24.99 % Light Blue Colour
25 % to 49.99 % Violet Colour
50 % to 99.99 % Pink Colour

100 % and above Brown Colour
