I'm just learning the app, and it is very informative thus far. I hope to learn more about what we have in my area, so I can utilize it better.

Not sure how this app has an overall 4.5-star review. Very limited info on rocks. It covers general stuff fine, such as defining the geologic types - igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. However, it only features a dozen or so different types of rocks. Common rocks like basalt, quartz, granite, etc. weren't even listed and using the search function turned up nothing. I've also never seen an app charge money in order to download the images to device for use in the field (aka, no internet). It's content you can already access for free...but you have to pay to save it to your device. Even better - the information offered free while connected to the internet but charged for if saved...is all high jacked from Wikipedia. Developer even credits Wikipedia in each article, yet charges for the privilege of downloading Wikipedia articles to your device. Save your money & frustrations - just download articles straight from Wikipedia - for FREE. If you want to spend money. Spend it on an actual, decent rock & mineral ID ebook. Don't give your money to a guy who stole free and widely accessible content who then wants to charge you for it.
