This app would be terrific as a standalone way to monitor your pillow and
spools. However, when paired with the awesome Octoprint API application,
Printroid, it's an extremely convenient way to track filament availability
and usage. I was especially impressed with the ability to catalog partial
spools. All that and super responsive developer support!

Pretty useful but could use more info. Would like per printer settings for linear advanced value, best temp, retraction distance/speed/lift, flow rate and so on. It would be nice to input the info per machine. Also scan filament and then scan printer it is going to and have the option for settings to come up. Scan the machine and options to unload filament and enter weight and notes.

TL;DR: App promises a simple idea, never delivers, and the developer never answers support requests. The idea of this app is pretty great: keep track of your filament, integrate with (one of) the ways to remotely control and monitor your 3D Printer. It even features NFC so if you have multiple reels of the same filament, you can keep them straight via cheap tags. Unfortunately, the app doesn't work, and I regret buying it. The developer completely and totally failed to get the key, central part right: tracking filament use. If you EVER attempt to use the sync feature (the only reason to ever actually pay for this), it will consistently fail to upload your changes, and it will ALWAYS overwrite them. It doesn't matter what device you use to make changes to your filament, it doesn't matter if you manually refresh or let it sync on its own time. When the sync occurs, the app will immediately figure out "the data on your phone and cloud do not match. Update?" It actually asks you to update. If you click "yes", it will overwrite from the cloud every single time. I emailed the developer and they never responded. I could write this off as a coding glitch, but there are other reviewers with the same problem and no contact. This is a stupidly easy problem to solve: have the app compare the two records and add the differences in. Assign each new filament usage an ID and only add new IDs to the record, then add/subtract to get your differences. Include an "add filament" or"incomplete print" event/note that increases the filament level on the reel. BOOM. Never another irradiated history. Understandably, this could be a performance problem if you had a few thousand or even tens of thousands of entries for a spool, but you can fix that either by archiving whenever you 100% refill a spool (fresh list) or by just erasing the history from the old spool. That's just for the app's existent non-function. More extensively, this honestly NEEDS an octoprint plugin. Fine, you don't want to force people into the platform, just make it an option. Printed already interfaces with octoprint, why not let THAT automatically feed you usage results. At least that way, you can catch unused filament from aborted prints, automatically.

The free app worked great. I upgraded to the premium and now it crashes constantly! I can't add any spools or do anything else. My email to the developer went unanswered. I guess he's happy - he got his money! 😡 Developer responds to my review but not my email? And rudely at that!
