Description

Rookie Chess is the perfect chess game for kids to practise and learn the basics of this ancient and challenging game.

Kids will be shown pop-up messages to guide them throughout the game:
- "Illegal move" when a movement isn't allowed for a given piece
- "Check" when another piece threatens to capture the king
- "Checkmate" when there is no way for the king to escape check, putting an end to the game
- Plus, the recording game feature that will allow them to check saved games and spot their wise moves and/or errors

★★★★★ I grew up playing chess, and now I'm teaching my 8 yr old to play, we like using this app as our referee as we play in tandem with our actual chess board. It's a great way for beginner parents and beginner kids to learn simple to use and fun. My child also really likes to play with Al, she is determined to get him in a checkmate, she's only been playing for a week and so far she has gotten him in a check and a stalemate quite a few times. So I recommend this app without a doubt.

★★☆☆☆ Im supposed to learn but when I try to show the app it's a checkmate it refuses 😒😒🙁👎👎👎
