Royal Runaway

Royal Runaway is a conceptual arcade runner experience set within the opulent halls of a grand royal palace. The theme follows a majestic King Chicken, adorned in a crown and mantle while carrying a golden scepter, who has decided to escape the confines of his luxurious residence. As the character dashes forward along endless red carpets, players must navigate through a series of palace-themed obstacles including royal thrones and scattered precious jewels. The visual atmosphere is defined by heavy gilding, marble columns, and the sheer grandeur of a monarch's daring escape.

The core gameplay of Royal Runaway focuses on precise timing and jumping mechanics. The character moves forward automatically, and the player is responsible for initiating jumps to clear the various obstacles appearing in the path. To provide a balanced level of challenge, the character starts each session with exactly three lives. Every collision with a throne, guard, or jewel results in the loss of one life. The game session concludes only when the life counter reaches zero, signifying the end of the escape attempt.

Progress within the application is measured by the total distance covered in meters. This metric serves as the primary indicator of the player's performance. The system automatically records the distance traveled and updates the high scores accordingly. A key feature of the record-keeping logic in Royal Runaway is its persistence; high scores are securely saved even if the user exits to the main menu or closes the application entirely. Additionally, the game features an integrated auto-pause system. If the application is minimized or the user switches to another task, the gameplay instantly pauses and displays a dedicated window. To resume the royal dash, the player must manually dismiss the pause window, ensuring that no progress is lost during interruptions.
