RSS Chemicals is a cloud-based chemical inventory management tool developed with a researcher-centric approach. It allows easy tracking and maintenance of containers using a barcoding system. Chemicals and safety information, such as hazard codes and first aid, are auto-populated. The app enables users to create chemical networks to share chemicals while controlling access easily. RSS Chemicals includes a complementary web application that works in sync with the mobile app and has additional features such as structure search and import/export capabilities. Revolution in Chemical Inventory This application makes doing inventory very simple and is very useful. I appreciate being able to view the chemical structure and safety information. Also, this makes it easy to find chemicals in the system. Great app!

Chemical Inventory This application makes chemical inventory fly! Instead of conducting the inventory annually, you can just update as you go and be done. Very efficient, user-friendly, and a time saver. I recommend that all UC's jump on board.

UC Chemical Inventory App! #CAS This application has many great features such as organized chemicals, sub locations, safety labels, chemical structures and mobile scanner. Accessible in both mobile and desktop. Download this app if you go to a UC school.

The app won't allow me to log in. I'm on an Android phone. Can log into the website no problem, and the app works fine on Apple devices.

In previous versions, the inventories of other colleagues in your department could be viewed freely. Now the app requires that other groups accept you as a collaborator before viewing. This feature does not work and so it is currently not possible to view other chemical inventories. I've had no luck contacting the service desk and the website meant to file tickets either doesn't load or goes ignored. The app developers do not communicate to the end-users and explain changes made to their app. It is no longer possible to be at a UC school and pool resources, share reagents, and form the connections that make for collaborative work environments.

The app allows for searching by scanning barcode, cas, or name. However, the in-app options for containers are limited to editing details or removing the container. You are not able to "check out" the chemical or see who is borrowing it like you are on the website, severely limiting usage of this app.
