What is Rubis Codebreaker?
Rubis Codebreaker is a puzzle and logic game where the aim is to find a secret code made up of a sequence of colors. The goal as an agent is to crack the code created by the opposing secret agent team.
Rubis Codebreaker is inspired by the great tradition of 2-player decryption games like Bulls and cows or numerello. We wanted to bring something new by inventing new mechanics, while keeping the popular elements of the classic code-cracking games invented in 1971.
How to play Rubis Codebreaker?
The rules are simple: find the right combination of colors chosen by the other agent as quickly and with as few tries as possible.
In each round you will propose a combination of several colors which could correspond to the one defined by the other team or the AI. Once your combination has been validated, the application will tell you if you are on the right track with three different clue types:
Black dot: one of the colors is correct and in the right position.
White dot: one of the colors is included in the code but is not in the right position.
Empty box: one of the colors is not in the secret combination.
Careful, the order of the clues does not correspond to the order of the colors in the combination! Once you have found the right combination (all boxes are black), you win the game!
Key functionalities:
Rubis Codebreaker has three different game modes:
Easy: This game mode is dedicated to those who are new to code-breaking games or looking to practice. In this mode, there are no duplicate colors in the combination.
Hard: This game mode is more complex and dedicated to expert players. In this mode, there may be color duplications in the enemy agent's combination. This makes the puzzle more difficult!
Challenges: This mode is for users who like to accomplish feats. Each of the 200 levels has different rules, such as speed challenges or thinking challenges to rack your brains even more.

I recommend this app to both beginners and Mastermind enthusiasts alike. The app currently is player vs. computer, with the computer setting the code and the player solving it. The game board closely resembles the original Mastermind board, and it has the traditional six colors. Options are: 1) Easy (no color is repeated in the code) and hard (a color may appear twice) modes, and four or five holes. The app runs smoothly, and the user interface is easy to use. The player may drag a color directly to the desired hole or simply touch it and have it go to the first open hole. There is a hint mode available that reveals the color for a random location. The game also keeps stats for how well a player does over time. There are no ads on the game screen itself. There is an occasional ad between games and when asking for a hint. There is an in-app purchase of $1.99 to remove all ads, and I recommend that anybody using the app regularly pay it to encourage the developer

This is not mastermind, not the way you can play it in the original game

For some weird reason which is probably only known by the developer him/herself, the app does not allow me to enter more than 2 gems of a given color. Sometimes I will fill all 4 spots with a single color which can give additional clues to previous steps. For that reason I will need to uninstall the app and try another Mastermind clone. The app looks good though.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP, IT IS NOT MASTERMIND, JUST A CHEAP IMITATION. SO MANY ADDS EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH BRINGS UP ANOTHER ADD, YOU MUST PAY TO REMOVE THEM EVERY TIME YOU PLAY BECAUSE THEY'LL COME BACK EVERY TIME YOU RESTART THE APP, OR IF YOU TAKE TOO LONG TO MAKE A MOVE, OR JUST PAUSE LONG ENOUGH TO LIGHT A CIGARETTE AND IT JUST STARTS RUNNING AN ADD. SAD HOW GREED HAS CONSUMED THE DEVELOPERS WHO PROBABLY SIT AROUND AND ARGUE AND FIGHT ABOUT SPLITTING UP THE PENNIES PER ADD.

Ads. Edit: I know how ratings work, and I know how ads work. Everyone does, obviously. But there's a right way and a wrong way, and your low tier, unoriginal app is doing it the wrong way. The rating stays.
