Description

Rune Square is a casual puzzle game where you drag runestones onto an 8x8 board and score by completing and clearing full horizontal or vertical lines.
Even without rotation, it offers deep strategy—and when you’re in trouble, Fire/Ice/Lightning magic can turn the board around.

How to Play
Drag and place runestones on an 8x8 board. (No rotation.)

When a full row or column is completed, it clears and you earn points.

Clear lines consecutively to build your combo.

If you fail to clear any line, your combo resets.

Clear the entire board to earn an extra bonus.

Magic System

At some point, you’ll get stuck with placement alone. That’s when magic gives you one more chance.

Fire: After selecting it, tap the board to remove a 3x3 area.

Ice: Use the arrows to choose a row or column and remove one full line.

Lightning: Fill or clear a single tile.

※ Tiles cleared by magic:

Do not count toward combos, and

do not receive score bonus calculations.
Magic isn’t a “score cheat”—it’s a strategic tool to escape a blocked board.

Mana

Mana charges through placing runestones / clearing lines / building combos.

When the gauge is full, you can choose and gain one spell of your choice.

While a spell is stored, the gauge won’t charge further.
Choosing when and which spell to take is key.

Game Over Rules

It’s game over when you can’t place any more runestones and have no spells available.

However, even in a game-over situation, if you can create space with magic and place runestones again, you can continue playing.
