No interaction needed during the race — the phone sends live GPS tracking data in the background and plays a sound when you reach a checkpoint.

A TYPICAL RACE
1. The organizer creates a competition and adds checkpoints at rushtherace.com. 2. Teams receive join codes by email, message, or on paper. 3. When the race starts, one phone per team enters the code. 4. Put the phone in your pocket and focus on the adventure. The team navigates with a paper map. 5. When the team reaches a checkpoint, the phone plays a sound and prompts for a code (if the checkpoint has one). 6. The organizer follows every team on a live map and publishes results the moment the race ends.
OUR PRINCIPLES
No map on the participant's phone. Navigation is part of the sport — use a paper map. The app only confirms arrivals with sounds and sends location to the organizer.
No ads. We never show advertising in the app.
No data selling. We never sell personal data.
Works offline. If the network drops in a forest, locations are stored on the phone and sent automatically when the connection returns.
ORGANIZING A COMPETITION
Organizers create competitions at https://rushtherace.com — set up the race, place the checkpoints, and share join codes with the teams. The Android app is for the participants.
Three race formats: - Fastest to Finish — classic race from start to finish, fastest team wins. - Longest Distance — cover the greatest distance within a fixed time window. - Checkpoint Mission — visit checkpoints, solve challenges, and complete tasks.
Free for small events (up to 10 teams). Paid plans for larger events.
PRIVACY
RushTheRace collects location only while a participant is actively taking part in an ongoing competition. Background location is used only while an active competition is in progress and stops automatically when the competition ends. We never sell personal data.
