Saffron Oracle

Once the reels are turning, where they stop is out of your hands. What you decide is everything before that: how many of five fixed lines are live, from one to all five, and which of five line values they carry, from 10 up to 200. The grid is five reels by three rows, and the lines follow the top, middle and bottom rows or dip and rise through them in a V and its mirror image. Eight fortune-teller symbols fill it, from Tarot Cards at the low end to the Sun, whose full row of five is worth 500 times the line value, and a match only counts when it starts on the first reel.
Two pieces behave differently. The horseshoe fills in for any of the eight regular symbols but never for the candle, and the candle ignores the lines altogether: three or more of them anywhere on the grid add five free spins, played with the lines and values frozen as they were when the candles appeared, and more candles during those spins add five more. A turbo setting cuts each spin to a fraction of its usual length, an automatic run repeats spins back to back until you halt it, leave the reels or the total falls below what one spin needs, and a table inside the game shows what every symbol is worth for three, four and five in a row.
A new install opens with 12,580 credits, a play total that exists only inside this game and has no real-money value. Beyond what the reels return, it grows through a daily gift ladder that climbs from 100 on the first day to 2,000 on the seventh, one rung per date on the device clock, dropping to the bottom after a missed day and beginning a fresh week once the seventh is taken. Music, sound, vibration and turbo each have their own switch, a reset returns everything to that opening total, and the balance, the ladder, your line choices and even the last grid you spun survive a restart without any login, with Wi-Fi and mobile data both off making no difference. Between visits the candles burn low over red velvet and brass lanterns, and the reels hold still on whatever they showed last.
