Salute+ è stata sviluppata dall'Unità di ricerca e-Health della Fondazione Bruno Kessler di Trento, all'interno del progetto TrentinoSalute+, programmato e coordinato dalla Provincia autonoma di Trento con TrentinoSalute4.0, il centro di competenza per lo sviluppo della sanità digitale.
Il progetto attua il primo dei macro obiettivi tematici del Piano per la salute del Trentino 2015-2025: “Più anni di vita in buona salute”. Il Trentino vuole infatti promuovere il proprio territorio come "amico della salute". Per questo coinvolge, attraverso innovative sperimentazioni, tutta la società, i privati cittadini e le aziende in un circuito virtuoso di promozione e incentivazione di sani stili di vita.

La App Salute+ è un progetto sperimentale di coaching virtuale per la promozione della salute, basata su tecnologie persuasive e di "decision support system". Cogli l'opportunità di rendere migliore la qualità della tua salute e del tuo stile di vita in una logica di "patient empowerment" (potenziamento del paziente) grazie a tecnologie digitali di tipo e-Health.
