La aplicación SATIC, desarrollada como parte integral del proyecto de Ciencia, Tecnología, Innovación (CTeI) y Sociedad, representa una innovadora iniciativa de seguridad para Santiago de Cali. Con un enfoque proactivo, SATIC se dedica a monitorear constantemente variables ambientales clave, utilizando sensores ciudadanos para anticipar posibles emergencias y desastres asociados con fenómenos naturales y socio-naturales, como inundaciones, deslizamientos e incendios.

El objetivo principal de SATIC es salvar vidas y reducir los impactos negativos en términos de pérdidas humanas, económicas, ambientales e infraestructurales. La aplicación se erige como un componente esencial para la NO interrupción del desarrollo social y físico del Distrito, contribuyendo a la sostenibilidad a corto, mediano y largo plazo.

SATIC no solo se limita al monitoreo, sino que también facilita la generación de alertas tempranas inteligentes. Los sensores ciudadanos permiten a los usuarios registrar alertas, proporcionando datos valiosos y en tiempo real sobre condiciones ambientales críticas. La aplicación actúa como un puente entre la comunidad y las autoridades, fortaleciendo la capacidad de respuesta ante situaciones de emergencia.
