Great Scanner Can't listen to local cuz of the frequency they use. However i can listen to my son's police department in Arkansas (I'm in So Florida) &other states where i have family.

Jax Fire Rescue Sometimes (most times) all I ever hear is Clay County Fire Rescue. Why? How come this thing rarely picks up Jacksonville Fire Rescue? Well, it sucks. Not to mention the boring Life-Flight banter. This just sucks. Saving my money for a real scanner from Radio Shack.

Needs work I bought it cause it had my county on it. But then when it installed my county can't be picked up.. So I listened to the neighboring county for one night. Now it won't even pick it up
