Scoundrel: Card Roguelike

The whole dungeon is a deck of cards. Planning won't save you. You only get to pick the lesser evil.

Scoundrel is a solo roguelike card game. One shuffled deck becomes the dungeon, and it lays itself out differently every time. Each room turns up four cards. Three you have to face. One you can leave for later... and regret the choice.

━ HOW IT PLAYS ━

• Fight or run. The cursed things hit, and they keep hitting... A weapon keeps you alive, but every kill blunts it — the next monster has to be weaker than the last one, unless you find a fresh weapon.
• Heal or waste it. Only the first potion in a room does anything. Grasp all, lose all.
• Skip a room. Bad hand? You can duck one, but the dungeon always comes to settle up.

You'll learn it in a minute. You'll keep losing for far, far longer.

You never get stronger. You just get better. Nothing to farm, no gear unlock that digs you out of trouble — every attempt comes down to the choices you make inside it.

Six mutators to unlock and stack until you find your limit:

• Tougher Monsters — every enemy one level higher.
• Watch Out for Traps — the game brings in traps your weapon can't affect.
• Blood Price — every room you skip costs 2 HP.
• Speed Run — three seconds a move. Hesitate and you bleed 1 HP a second.
• Glass Cannon — +2 sword damage, −8 max HP. Kill faster, die faster.
• Extra Heal — +2 max HP, stronger potions. Mercy, if you ask for it.
