Dims the screen without reducing brightness (which means no increasing flickering from PWM that causes eye fatigue for some people) I prefer manual mode & and ise the pixel filter (4 pixel pattern) to further desaturate (intentionally) my screen. Did I mention it's free, without ads?

It works to reduce burn in and make it easier for the eyes, but sadly on lower brightness the in display fingerprint scanner can't scan. I would enable this every time if that was solved.

Great app. Fixed basically all my eye strain issues in my Pixel phone. One update I would like it see is the possibility of dimming the screen more in a dark room. It feels too bright if I'm laying in bed or something.

Screen goes full brightness when orientation changes or during certain transitions. Every time you use it you have to keep granting permissions in settings through lengthy menus. Ad free I guess...

Not a screen dimmer, just an app to replace your phone's built-in brightness adjuster EditToReply: how? I wanted my screen dimmed below hardware limits, so artificially. Your app only adjusts the hardware part. What is different from the phone's built in option? Edit2:Then the app name is very misleading. But I'll remove one part of the review then and up the rating to 2 for a legit reply that isn't AI.

The app dims the screen, but the permissions are concerning. Android privacy settings show Screen Dimmer has “full access” to my device, and it is the sole app with full access. I understand Accessibility may be needed for some dimming features, but full access to literally everything on the device is not justified. Even after closing the app and disabling background activity, it still showed continuous access. Uninstalled.

Internet permission is not listed, and an update removed Internet permission, reducing online exposure. The app uses an Accessibility service to apply a dimming overlay and a foreground service to maintain operation, which is standard for screen-dimmer utilities and aligns with common safety practices.
