Description
Sentrio IP Cam turns an Android phone into a full-featured security camera and surveillance camera that runs entirely on your own Wi-Fi, no cloud, no account, no subscription. Whether it is an old spare phone or your current device: set it up, plug it into a charger, and keep an eye on your home, your pet or your front door. This way an old phone replaces a classic IP camera and keeps your recordings with you.
Operation is deliberately simple. You open the app, tap "Start server" and allow access to the camera and microphone. The app then shows you an address such as http://192.168.0.20:8080. Open it in any browser on a PC, tablet or second phone on the same network. That is where the live view runs, and where you control everything else. Nothing needs to be installed on the viewing device.
The live stream is sent over WebRTC directly within your local network, so it arrives with very low latency. If you like, you can enable HTTPS with a self-generated certificate, as well as two-way talk to be heard through the phone.
Several recording modes are available, and you switch between them right in the web interface: 🎬 Video: start and stop a recording manually at the touch of a button. 🔁 Continuous: records non-stop and automatically overwrites older footage (ring buffer). ⏳ Time-lapse: records at an adjustable interval. 🚶 Motion: motion detection starts recording automatically and can raise an alert as soon as something moves in the frame; the monitored area and the post-recording time are freely adjustable. 🔊 Sound: reacts above an adjustable loudness threshold, making it ideal for room monitoring or as a baby monitor.
A single high-resolution photo is also just a tap away at any time. When motion or a sound is detected, Sentrio IP Cam can optionally notify you by email, with a photo attached, sent through your own SMTP server. All recordings first stay locally on the device. In addition, they can be uploaded automatically to your own network drive (NAS) via SMB, FTP or SFTP. You alone define the destination and the credentials.
You can fine-tune the image quality too. Front or rear camera, image rotation, zoom and tap-to-focus are included, as are resolution and frame rate up to 4K. Exposure, ISO, white balance and stabilization can be set manually; HDR and night vision are available where your device supports them. When needed, switch on the flashlight or black out the phone display to save power.
🔒 At Sentrio, privacy is the core principle: there is no cloud, no servers of ours and no account. The app contains no analytics, tracking or advertising libraries. Video and audio leave your network only when you set up an upload or email delivery to a destination you have chosen yourself.
