Description by Seqwater(from Google Play)
The Seqwater app is a public safety app that will allow users to: • receive dam release alerts and recreation and safety notices • view the latest dam level information • search for things to do at Seqwater recreation sites • quickly access a list of emergency contacts with tap to call links.
Dam alerts and safety notices The app uses a Early Warning Network (EWN) geographic notification and information system (GNIS) to manage notifications about dam releases and recreation and safety notices. Users must register with a valid mobile number and email address to receive alerts.
The app’s use of location updates is an optional feature that allows us to send real time notifications and alerts to app users based on their location.
Recent changes: Redesigned modern user interface.
Users can now filter the list of dams to only show what is relevant to them.
App has been updated for compatibility with newer devices and screen sizes, such as folding phones.
Background location tracking feature has been replaced - users can now optionally set their home address and enable active location tracking while the app is open to receive location specific alerts.

I like the app very much. Can I please suggest something useful? A map link for each dam to show where the dam is located.

This app has clearly been designed to the detriment of the taxpayer who has footed the bill for this. It is almost 30Mb yet has so little functionality and backs most features off to an in-app browser. This means that no maps and little information is available offline. The requirement to register with an email and mobile to simply use the app makes it invasive and shows the desire to harvest user details as a more important feature than functionality. The "help me" option adds nothing but a false sense of security, and you would be best to simply call 112 from your mobile than attempt to use this feature. I am sure the outsourced company laughed all the way to the bank on this and that many old men that had little knowledge about any customer interaction or app design sat around a board table and patted each other on the back after going over budget yet eventually meeting the original scope of works.
