SHOKUNIN Japanese Watch Face

WabiFace SHOKUNIN brings six materials of the Japanese craft tradition to your Wear OS smartwatch.

🪵 SIX MATERIALS
Choose the surface your watch is made of: Yuteki oil-spot tenmoku glaze, Yakisugi charred cedar, Sashiko indigo cloth, Shikkui lime plaster, Tsuchime hammered copper and Ishi chiselled granite. Every dial keeps its own markers, and the hands change metal to suit it — silver, brass, ivory or blackened steel.

☀️ LIGHT THAT MOVES
A raking light travels once around the dial every 24 hours: the material is lit from the left in the morning, from above at midday and from the right in the evening. Cool and warm washes follow the hour, so the surface reads dry at dawn and deep at night.

🔴 THE SEAL AND THE NAME
A vermilion seal reading 匠 (takumi, master artisan) sits at 12 o'clock. Opposite it, the material names itself — in romaji or in kanji, or switched off entirely.

🕙 ANALOG OR DIGITAL
Switch between the analog hands and a large stacked digital time, 12 or 24 hour following your watch. The numerals were drawn for this face and are cut in the same metal as the hands.

⌚ COMPLICATIONS
Two slots, showing steps and battery unless you choose otherwise. Four sizes including off, and five ink colours.

🌙 AMBIENT MODE
Always-on display shows outline hands and dim markers on black to preserve battery.
