How does the app work? Whenever some unknown number calls the app checks it in its permanently updated database - immediately, without internet connection. If it finds out that other users reported the respective number as nuisance, it warns you against it. Or if you want it so, it can block it directly, the caller will not be able to reach you.
It is just the database used by the Should I Answer app which is an absolute unique part. It is composed directly by the users of the app: after each unknown call the users can rate it anonymously either as safe or spam. After approval given by our admins the report is then visible in the database where all users can benefit from.
What the app can do? • It can protect you effectively against the unsolicited calls. You can set the level of protection exactly according to your needs: from simple alert of unsolicited call to direct blocking.
• It can block even hidden, foreign or premium rate numbers. Also you can write your own lists of blocked or allowed numbers.
• The app can be used as fully functional dialer app: you will find all your Contacts, favourite Contacts and complete call history in it.
• The app can protect you even offline. If you need to update the local database it waits for your wi-fi connection.
• It’s simple, even your grandma can use it :-)
How does the app deal with your personal data? Everything is happening directly in your phone, and in your phone only - your data is never by passed to some 3rd party. The app can’t „see“ even your own phone number, all reports are fully anonymous, the app doesn’t send even your Contacts anywhere.

I really love this app. I was getting so many spam calls that I was thinking about changing my phone number that I've had over 10 years. I installed the app, and it stopped all the spam calls and gave me the opportunity to take the call or not. The best thing is my phone never rings for numbers that are not saved in my phone. I really recommend this app 😊

I've used this app for many years and have become a paid subscriber. It protects me from many unwanted calls - they are automatically rejected. A few still come through, but I'm warned that they might be unwanted. We are encouraged to rate phone numbers to keep the database updated. I've recommend this app to many friends who complain about the number of unwanted calls that they receive.

Doesn't work, absolutely useless on a Poco F1, tried everything suggested online, draw overlay over top, set as default calling app, turned off restrict background activity power thing, followed every single thing, and all it does is blocked all my calls to voicemail despite changing EVERY blocking setting, and NEVER EVER popped up with ANY notification at all while a call was received whether blocked or on my call list. Complete waste of time for me. Just have to put up with Scammers I guess.

I was trying out spam blocker apps and came across this. I was receiving about 1 spam call every 3 days. I installed this and my spam calls went through the roof. Maybe 10 to 15 calls a day. It almost seemed random until I noticed a pattern after paying attention to my voicemails. It was basically 1 of 3 messages from randomly dialed numbers. But the return number (although different numbers) had the same area code. I went in and deleted the app and no surprise that the calls immediately stopped

Used to be an amazing app. Now it's your typical subscription model app that isn't worth your time if you don't want to pay a monthly fee for the rest of your life. No option for one time purchase of course. Just don't bother without a subscription, you'll spend more time updating the database than you would simply hang up on spam calls, and even then the app doesn't block them all properly. There are both better paid and free alternatives to this app.
