Description
There's an incredible amount of radio signals.
It's impossible to know them all, let alone recognize them. So why not get help from SignalID? At the moment, it recognizes about twenty signals (the exhaustive list is below) With only 5 seconds of recording time, it tries to recognize the signal.
To use it: Set the frequency and bandwidth properly. Selecting the frequency range. (0-30 MHz / Other) Place the microphone of the telephone near the loudspeaker. (The quieter the environment is around, the fewer errors will occur) Press the big button that dances. Wait 5 seconds. (minimum time required for recognition) But the optimal and maximum time is 30 seconds.
Tips : The algorithm is based on frequency, a wrong tuning of your radio/SDR will result in an erroneous detection. The recording is limited to 30 seconds, for practical reasons. Recognition of a signal may require several attempts.

Here is the non-exhaustive list of recognized signals : - RTTY (Commercial 85Hz, 170Hz, 450Hz, 850Hz, Amateur 170Hz) - STANAG 4285 (GEN, SYS3000 FEC, 8PSK, TFC, IDLE, SYS3000) - FT4 - FT8

★★★★★
Sweet concept. I did get it to recognize ft8 after 2 attempts. However, in the help file it states I may take multiple attempts. I always wished something like this existed.
★★☆☆☆
Lucked out and got FT4 once then called it stnag, in fact calls lots of sigs stnag is that the default? Suggestions: A cancel to stop recording A wrong ID button, so it can learn from bad IDs An input of correct ID, so it can learn A valid input level indicator may help No need to waste computing power on dancing indicator
★★☆☆☆
Neat idea for an app. Let me know if you ever write it. This is nothing but an interface. Whatever is supposed to go on behind the scenes is clearly not happening. Update: I'll give it another try later on then. But consider making it force some kind of response with a percentage of confidence. I tried it repeatedly on several signals and got no response whatsoever. So there is no way of telling that it even tried.
★★☆☆☆
Does nothing at all. Does not identify the most obvious of signal modes. Deleted.
