Description by Nouxi(from Google Play)
Follow earthquakes near you and around the world with Sismia. Explore recent seismic activity, check your distance from an epicenter and choose earthquake alerts based on magnitude and location. See where each report comes from and open the details that help put an event in context.
RECENT EARTHQUAKES, CLEAR SOURCES Browse a list of detected earthquakes with magnitude, time, depth and location. Sort by the newest events, strongest magnitudes, distance or personal relevance. Set a minimum magnitude and select the data sources you want to follow. Sismia brings together reports from networks such as USGS, EMSC and GEOFON, alongside regional agencies, subject to service availability.
ALERTS THAT MATCH YOUR SETTINGS Choose a worldwide magnitude threshold or monitor earthquakes within a distance radius. Configure nearby earthquake notifications, tsunami bulletin alerts and spoken announcements. Nighttime quiet hours help reduce interruptions, with an exception for events above your chosen magnitude. A diagnostics screen lets you check notification permission, battery restrictions and test notifications.
EXPLORE THE EARTHQUAKE MAP Locate epicenters and see how seismic events are distributed across a region. Add layers for tectonic plate boundaries, geological faults and volcanoes. Display your position and alert radius to compare events with the area you follow. Change the map style and use magnitude colors to understand the overview before opening individual reports.
LOOK INSIDE AN EVENT Open an earthquake to view coordinates, depth, magnitude, distance and the reporting agency. When available, USGS products add shaking intensity and estimated impact information. Follow the official source link for more detail or share an event report with someone else. Calculated intensity is an estimate, not a measurement of shaking at your exact location.
SEARCH AND SEISMIC ANALYSIS Find events using time, magnitude and region filters. Explore charts of daily event frequency, magnitude distribution and estimated energy for the selected dataset. Review the strongest earthquake, nearby events and reports grouped by source. Statistics reflect the information received and your selected filters; a gap in the records does not establish that no earthquake occurred.
VOLCANOES AND TSUNAMI BULLETINS Use the volcano catalog and geological layers to understand the wider setting. USGS volcano activity bulletins cover the United States and its territories, not every volcano worldwide. Tsunami information depends on available bulletins from the data services. For emergency decisions, follow local authorities and official instructions.
SET UP THE APP YOUR WAY Choose light, dark or system appearance, kilometers or miles, and local time or UTC. Change the app language in settings. Previously stored earthquake records remain available without a connection, while new reports and online maps require internet. Location access is optional and enables distance calculations and nearby alerts. No account is needed to use the app.
MAP AND ANALYSIS ACCESS Sismia contains advertising. Watch an available rewarded ad to unlock the Map or Analysis tab for 24 hours. Recent earthquake listings and alerts do not require that unlock. Ad availability depends on the advertising service and your connection, so a video may not always be available.
UNDERSTAND WHAT ALERTS MEAN Sismia reports events after they have been detected and published by its sources. It does not predict earthquakes, provide seismic early warning or guarantee a notification before shaking. Agency updates, network access, notification permissions and Android background restrictions affect delivery. It is an independent app and is not officially affiliated with the agencies it references.
Check the report time and source when comparing updates: earthquake parameters can be revised as agencies review their observations.
