Start with a beat. Finish with a song.
SkunkAudio is an offline music studio and DAW for Android. Make beats, chop samples, play synths, record audio and arrange complete tracks in one connected workspace. Take an idea from its first sound through sequencing, sound design, mixing and export.

Build beats with your own groove
Program drums, basslines and melodies in the step sequencer. Shape note length, velocity, swing and micro-timing in the piano roll. Add ratchets and probability for variation, or use the Euclidean rhythm generator to explore evenly spaced rhythms. Develop longer phrases and organize them into reusable patterns.
Sample, chop and resample
Import your sounds, record into pads and split a recording into playable slices. Trim waveforms, reverse audio, adjust pitch and add fades. Perform across two banks of 16 pads, then resample your playing and effects into new material for pads, loops, sequencer tracks or the arrangement.
Play instruments. Create new ones.
Explore virtual analog, FM and wavetable synths, acoustic-inspired instruments, granular textures, drones and a vocoder. Load your own SoundFonts and save custom presets. Play with piano keys, pads or note switches, use Hold and the arpeggiator, or combine two instruments in DUAL mode.
SkunkMorph analyzes an isolated recorded or imported sound and generates editable synth or wavetable interpretations. Preview different characters, choose one and shape a playable instrument inspired by your source.
Capture ideas and performances
Record vocals, instruments and other audio with the recorder. Use Idea Rec to turn suitable beatboxing, humming or whistling into editable drum or MIDI ideas. Design drum sounds in SkunkDrummer, sequence with SkunkOcta, and layer tempo-synchronized audio or MIDI performances in the live-looping workspace.
Perform with effects
Shape your track with live macro pedals, momentary effects and automation. Add EQ, compression, distortion, reverb, delay and modulation through rack or pedal-style controls. Customize Quick Controls to keep the parameters you use within reach.
Move beyond the loop
Build a song in the arrangement timeline using patterns, recordings and loops. Move, trim, split and duplicate clips, work with audio stretching and pitch, and automate your mix. Balance tracks, channels, buses and the master with volume, pan, sends, mute and solo controls.
Keep your work editable
Export your music as 16-bit or 24-bit WAV, create separate stems, and import or export MIDI for continued work in another DAW. Save projects locally and use optional backup export and restore for important sessions.
Create on your Android phone or tablet in portrait or landscape. Connect compatible USB or Bluetooth MIDI controllers and map supported controls with MIDI Learn.
For beatmakers, musicians and sound designers who want to develop an idea into a complete track, wherever inspiration starts.
Audio-interface support, internal capture and Bluetooth latency depend on your device, Android version and source app. Wired or USB audio is recommended for low-latency monitoring. Idea analysis works best with clear, isolated recordings.

App icon update (the old one can be set in settings for anyone who prefers it)
Added a fix on Macros where a sound from another pattern was bleeding to another pattern when transitioning. Now bleed is added as a function and also you can select which tracks can be altered by macros on each pattern
