Description
Slant is a color blind camera for red-green color blindness. Point your phone at anything and the colors you mix up start to move: reds get stripes, greens get dots.
The circle in the middle names the color under it, live, in plain words. When Slant isn't sure, it says so: the likelier color big, and the other possibility small underneath.
For the moments you'd otherwise ask someone: • Wires. Freeze the picture, tap one wire, then the other, and Slant names each one. Always check wiring with a tester. • Clothes. Navy or black? Brown or green? Point at your socks and read the name, and the "or" when there is one. • Fruit. Red ones stripe and green ones get dots, so you can pick them out of a pile. • Around the house. Colored pencils, charts, maps, towels, paint chips.
The stripes tell you the shade. Pink-reds lean one way, crimson stands upright, and orange-reds lean the other.
Every match answers. When the color under the circle changes, a ripple runs across the picture, and everything else of that color flashes as it passes.
Find a color. Drag to choose a color, and everything else turns grey.
Show someone. Drag the line across the screen: on one side is a simulation of how red-green color blindness (deuteranopia) can look, and on the other the full colors. Hand the phone to family or friends.
Tune it to your eyes. Pick the pair that's harder for you to tell apart, then slide until two squares look clearly different to you.
Share what you see. Freeze, and send a friend the picture with its name on it, like "Slant says: navy. Could be black." When Slant isn't sure, the picture says so too.
Save what you checked. Keep the colors you compared, with a small picture of each, in a notebook on your phone.
Private by design. Slant has no internet permission. The camera picture never leaves your phone unless you choose to share it, and nothing is uploaded, tracked or sold. There are no ads and no accounts, and it works offline.
Slant helps you tell colors apart. It doesn't test, diagnose or treat color blindness, and it doesn't change how your eyes see.
