EDIT OPTION ADDED, after a widget is deleted it's information is stored and when adding a new widget you can select menu(or the three dots)->Load last deleted widget config to select the apps it had selected
A 1x1 widget that allows you to add four small launch-icons to it. Only the applications icons are shown, so if two applications have the same icon you wont know which one goes to which.
There seems to be confusion of what a widget is! To add it to your home screen you (usually) long press your home screen, select widget from the menu that pops up, and then select "Small Icons".

I used to use More Icons Widget. Unfortunately, it seems to no longer be supported, and there is a bug on my Note 5, some icons don't show up (i.e. Clock and Gallery) and it never worked with my Galaxy Tab 2. Found this... while it isn't as comprehensive as More Icons Widget is, and setting up/editing widgets is, I guess you could call it Mac-like, so not as intuitive for me as MIW (yeah, I'm not I find Macs hard to use); So far I haven't found any bugs and it appears to work great. For now, I'll run both widgets, to retain the flexibility, but I may switch over to this someday since I don't use the other stuff at the moment that Small Icons doesn't have and it seems to be still supported. Donation likely coming...

Used to work, disappeared Was great, now widget won't show up on home screen anymore. Goes through the setup, then disappears. Uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled. Still nothing. No response from email request for support.
