Description by Stefan Karg(from Google Play)
This application easily enables you to create a backup of your SMS messages.
The application will save your SMS messages to html-files, which are easy to handle.
The files will be stored on your sd-card. You can copy them to your computer and easily view or search them with a webbrowser of your choice.
The application creates 3 html-files: - one for the inbox - one for messages you've sent - one with a thread-view like the default messaging application.
The application is able to store backups from different dates in different folders.
Recent changes: Major changes:
- The application now tries to associate the phone number of the sender / recipient with the name stored in the phone contacts.
- The application creates a subdirectory with the current date and stores the backup in it. So you can store backups from multiple dates.
Minor changes:
In 1.2.1: - fixed a bug in the contact reader.
In 1.2.2: - fixed rotation-bug - supports devices with SD-card under a different path than /sdcard/

Simple, lightweight program that saved all my text conversations to an HTML file that I can view or export. Very nicely done! No stupid ads either!

Fast Backup Does the job of a quick backup. I like the fact that it has NO Network Permission for Internet access. Valid or not, it makes me feel more at ease that the program does not have the capability to send my SMS and Contacts information onto the internet for rogue use. I can easily send the file as an attachment or save it on PC myself. What would improve this program beyond others is to maintain offline backups ONLY and to add RESTORE capability. A threaded conversation starting collapsed would allow quicker scrolling through the various conversations too. Add Call Logs backup and restore and I would pay for an app that does this OFFLINE.

Not really a backup. This should really be called copy to HTML for reading in a web browser, as there is no restore.
