Sobriety Widget is a quiet day counter for your home screen, paired with short daily reflections from classic Stoic writing. Use it to keep track of a habit you are taking a break from, and to learn a little Stoic philosophy along the way.

WHO IT IS FOR
Anyone taking a break from something, such as alcohol, nicotine, gambling, social media, sugar or a habit of your own, who wants a simple counter and something thoughtful to read each day. You name each counter yourself.

YOUR DAY COUNT, AT A GLANCE
Add a widget and your day number is always there, updating by itself daily. No need to open the app.

LEARN FROM THE STOICS
Each day pairs a short passage from Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus or Seneca with a brief original reflection written in plain, everyday language.
• Passages come from public-domain translations by George Long, Aubrey Stewart and Thomas Lodge
• Every passage shows its author, work, section and translator, so you can read further
• Themes include desire, self-control, habit, freedom, the present moment and getting back on track
• The tone is warm and plain: no lectures, no slogans

The Stoics wrote about attention, desire and choice nearly two thousand years ago, and their words still read clearly today. Each reflection is a short invitation to think, not an instruction. Read one in under a minute, or follow the reference to the full text.

If you reset a counter, your history stays. Every day you counted still counts. There are no lost-streak warnings and no guilt.
