🔢 How Play Merge Works

Each round in Play Merge begins with numbered tiles on the board. After every successful swipe, a new tile appears. Swipe up, down, left, or right to move all tiles in that direction. When two tiles with the same number meet, they merge into one tile with double the value. Your score increases when merges happen, so planning your moves matters.

The challenge in Play Merge is reading the board before you swipe. One move can create space or block future merges. If the grid fills up and no merges are possible, the round ends. Every swipe shapes what happens next.

📈 Ten Levels with Target Tiles

Play Merge includes ten levels. Each level asks you to create a target tile on the board before you win:

• Level 4 — target tile 512
• Level 5 — target tile 1024
• Level 6 — target tile 2048

When you complete a level in Play Merge, the next level unlocks. Locked levels remain visible in the list with a locked state, so you can see what is ahead. Difficulty rises through higher target tiles on each stage.

🏠 Home Screen and Level Select

The home screen in Play Merge shows your overall high score and two buttons: Play and Levels. Play opens your current unlocked level. Levels opens a scrollable list where each entry shows the level name, target tile, and your high score for that level when you have one.

Locked levels appear dimmed and cannot be opened until unlocked. Unlocked levels can be selected and played at any time.

📊 Gameplay HUD and Controls

During a round in Play Merge, the HUD displays Score, your overall high score, the current Level number, and the Target tile for that stage. The game is controlled with swipe gestures in four directions. A Quit button lets you leave the current round and return to the previous screen.

Play Merge runs in portrait orientation with a neon-style interface using cyan, magenta, and green accents on a dark background.

🏆 Victory and Defeat Screens

You win a level in Play Merge when a tile on the board reaches the target value. The result screen shows Victory, your final score, and a short outcome message. If another level is available, Continue takes you to the next stage. Play again restarts the same level. Home returns you to the main screen.

If no moves remain before the target is reached, the round ends in defeat. The result screen shows Defeat, your score, and options to Play again or go Home.

💾 Saved Progress

Play Merge saves progress locally on your device using on-device storage. Your unlocked level, overall high score, and per-level high scores are kept between sessions. Close the app, replay a stage, or switch levels — your saved data remains available next time you open Play Merge.

Play Merge uses a dark neon look with color-coded tiles that change as values grow. The grid is drawn for mobile screens with readable numbers and touch-friendly layout. The interface stays focused on the board, score information, and level goal.
