Description
Novel technologies like Silverpush build upon ultrasonic sounds to exchange information. More and more of our devices communicate via this inaudible communication channel. Ultrasonic communication enables to pair devices, exchange information but also to track users and their behavior across several devices similar to cookies in the web. Every device with a microphone and a speaker is able to send and receive ultrasonic information. The user is usually not aware of this inaudible and hidden data transfer.
SoniControl is the first firewall that detects ultrasonic activity, notifies the user and blocks the information on demand, and thereby helps users to protect their privacy. Further, advanced diagnostics on detections are provided. SoniControl visualizes the ultrasonic activity as a spectrogram and gives the possibility to play the inaudible sounds in a hearable range. Additionally, firewall rules are displayed on a map for a better geographical overview.

Great first release! No issues with the app itself - it is stable, doesn't hog memory, and produces "consistent" results (ie triggers at the same locations each time). The downsides are that there is still some functionality missing: - no ability to send the log file recording the triggers to - another app (or email) for analysis or mapping. This is probably the biggest gap in functionality. - no maps (a little gimmicky, but interesting). - triggers are slow to appear in the log file, and the trigger list doesn't autorefresh. - no metadata around the signals. It does try and categorize signals (unsuccessfully in my case) but it would be interesting to see more (duration, frequency, shifts etc.). Other points - I can't comment on the accuracy, so I can' assess how many false / missed alerts there are. Which is to be expected in an app that takes the enhanced ability of my phone to hear things that can't. Overall, this isn't an app for everyone, but it's definitely one I am tracking...and eagerly waiting for the team to drop their next release.

App's great, but lacks detailed instructions. Instructions for using the app is poor. Downloading for offline purpose, is understandable. However, the app is incomplete with poor instructions. However, poor instructions for using the features. The settings & what they mean are undefined. Correct those minor changes, and app will be Outstanding

I don't want to block the sounds. I want to hear a very specific range. Ap description is too vague for me. No. I do not want to generate sound. I want to have the ability to hear whichever range I want to record. I am looking for the ability to record sounds at ranges inaudible to the human ear. I am not looking for a decibel meter. I am looking to be able to record the sound of certain microwave frequencies.
