By Laurentzi, from Google Play“Turn your phone into a microphone and send speech to bone conduction buds.”
Description by Laurentzi Written by the developer, not by AppBrain. Click to read.
Put the phone on the table facing whoever is talking, or in your shirt pocket, and press Start. Speech arrives louder and clearer, with nothing plugging your ears.
◆ Your phone becomes a remote microphone: move it near the speaker and distance stops mattering
◆ Digital gain from 0 to 30 dB with two large buttons, no menus to dig through
◆ Multiband compression: lifts quiet speech a lot and already-loud sounds barely at all
◆ Bone clarity: restores the treble that bone conduction tends to lose on the way
◆ Consonant enhancement to tell words apart, not just hear them louder
◆ Automatic anti-feedback: if squealing starts, gain drops only while it lasts
◆ Five ready-made profiles (Conversation, Bone clarity, Television, Outdoors, Quiet room) plus your own, saved and exportable
◆ 8-band equalizer and a step-by-step calibration assistant
◆ Placement assistant: where to rest the transducers and how to tell they are seated right
◆ Emergency stop always on screen, and a limiter so there is never a sudden peak
YOUR AUDIO NEVER LEAVES THE PHONE. It is processed in real time on the device itself and is never stored or sent anywhere. The app uses the internet only for ads and to ask for your advertising consent.
WORKS WITH ANY BONE CONDUCTION HEADPHONES over Bluetooth, and with wired, USB and Bluetooth LE Audio outputs too. If Android cannot route the sound to your headphones, the app stops: it never sends amplified audio to the phone speaker.
THE LIMITS, STATED PLAINLY. The app can push quiet sounds close to the digital maximum, but it cannot exceed the power of your headphones' own amplifier. Once the digital output is at maximum, more gain will not give more loudness. And Bluetooth headphones add their own delay, which no app can remove.
BoneAmp is a personal sound amplifier. It is not a medical device, it is not designed to diagnose or treat anything, and it does not replace professional advice. Keep the volume at a comfortable level.
