I love using this app to learn languages, with all the writing, speaking, listening and reading, especially since I can switch between the languages that I want. Tho for different alphabet like Russian it was kinda hard without transliteration. I hope it will help me get more familiar with the languages

I am re-writing my review after having used this and other language apps for a while now. Speakly is simply the best app to supplement your language learning from beginner to intermediate. Cloze completion with spaced recall for the most frequent vocabulary + listening/reading input practice + some guided speaking practice! I mean, whatever course you are taking, or graded readers you are reading, this app will help you learn and retain what you learned!

I love that there is an option to choose whether you would like to focus on speaking or writing the language. I also appreciate that for the speaking option, they go about it by teaching you actual conversation bits and not just making you memorizing words, so you are actually learning how they're used as you're learning them. Plus, they have Estonian, which some other apps don't have which is appreciated. I do not feel limited by using their free version, it's not a requirement to upgrade.

Purchased a subscription, but had to cancel it during the trial because of how slow and buggy the app is. Makes the learning process extremely unpleasant

Lost 4 month streak due techcal issues. App didn't work for a day. I'm using this app to support learning Estonian. App is focused on learning words, but for the language like Estonian it doesn't work well, since without a proper grammar explanation or clustering different forms of the same word together it is just ineffective. There are some grammar explanations, but they're not exhaustive, so they do not give a real understanding of what is happening and what incorrect answers are doing wrong.

Meh. Heavily paywalled, constantly harassing you by presenting a feature, you try to interact with the feature, and it pops up like 'haha nice try, give us money now'. The notifications are hit or miss if they appear, and when they do the text can be... let's go with 'unnecessary' as 'demeaning' feels too strong (just show me a basic notification, mmk?). While the app appears to be presenting an 'adequate' curriculum tuned for each user, it lacks any retention imo and falls flat.
