Spectroid is a real-time audio spectrum analyzer with reasonable frequency resolution across the the entire frequency spectrum.

Q: Why are the dB values negative? A: Spectroid uses dBFS (Full Scale) where 0 dB is the maximum power that the microphone can measure, so the decibel values are negative because the measured power is less than the maximum power.
Q: Can I zoom in on the spectrum plot? A: Yes, do a two-finger pinch-to-zoom gesture.
Q: Why are there discontinuities/gaps in the spectrum plot and waterfall? A: Spectroid uses multiple FFTs overlapped in frequency in order to provide better frequency resolution at lower frequencies than a single FFT. The caveat of this method is varied impulse response and minor discontinuities in frequency. The upside is that it can efficiently produce a spectrum that better matches the frequency resolution of human audio perception. It's still probably not as good as your ears though!
Q: Can I export the spectrum data? A: Spectroid doesn't make your device a calibrated instrument. If you need the spectrum data then you should be using an actual spectrum analyzer rather than an app on your mobile device.

Please add support for selecting different audio inputs (phone mic, system audio, combined input, or external/headphone mic). Also, the graph is always raised due to background noise, please include a baseline/noise floor calibration option, so it stays flat and only shows sounds above the ambient noise. It would also be very helpful to have the ability to record audio along with the graph for later analysis. Overall, it's a really good app.

I use it all the time for music/audio projects. Great for when you need to know what frequencies you're hearing. Would love some options such as viewing custom bandwidths or adjusting the view for how much time the spectrogram is showing.

The app has been compromised by playstore.it should clearly tell frequencies, but its settings are set till you pay the vultures! don't use it it's not accurate.

I got this to find the jerk neighbor using hi frequencies to control another neighbors dog. Its reads 18 -20khz. Not ultrasonic. The problem I see with this app is ALL the Peak markers are forced to be in the exact same area, within a few hertz, because of ambient sounds. Would help if there was a way to put the markers inside a specific range, entered into a min & max box. Otherwise, no complaints. Now, off to get an external mic & parabolic, to go find this A H
