Measure your reading speed, check comprehension and practise at a pace that works for you. Speed Reader combines a speed reading trainer with an EPUB and FB2 reader for your own books.

Measure words per minute, then answer questions about what you read. The reading speed test considers comprehension as well as pace, because reading faster only matters when the text still makes sense.

📖 Practise speed reading with your books

Import your own EPUB and FB2 ebooks and choose the reading mode that suits the moment:
• Regular reading without automated movement.
• Auto-scroll at your selected pace.
• Word highlighting that helps you keep your place.
• Flowing highlight that moves through the text letter by letter.
• RSVP/Spritz mode with one word at a time in the center.

Set a pace from 50 to 1,500 words per minute. An optional focus point marks the central letter, and you can customize the highlight colors.

📊 Track your progress

Statistics bring reading and training together: pages read, average speed, reading and exercise time, active days and streaks. Select a period and follow your routine without chasing a single high score.

📚 EPUB and FB2 ebook reader

• Import books from your device.
• Preserve EPUB structure, including headings, paragraphs, lists, italics and images.
• Use the table of contents to move quickly between chapters.
• Resume from your last position and track reading progress.
• Choose horizontal pages or continuous vertical scrolling.
• Search your local library by book title or author.

📄 PDF viewer

Open PDF files, navigate their table of contents and physical pages, and choose paginated or vertical scrolling. PDF documents use a fixed layout, so font changes, word highlighting and other speed reading modes are not available for PDF content.

🔤 Bionic mode and flexible text

Turn on a bionic font to visually emphasize the beginning of each word. Choose from serif, sans-serif, monospaced and OpenDyslexic variants.

Choose from Alice, Literata, Lora, PT Serif, Roboto, Lato and other fonts. Adjust text size, alignment, line spacing and paragraph spacing. Your preferences are saved and applied to books automatically.

🌙 Comfortable themes

Use a light, dark or system theme and select one of several color palettes. The clean, minimal interface keeps the focus on your book.
