Car Home Ultra is a car dock app that makes it easy to manage your phone while in the car.
It can startup automatically when your car’s BT is detected, and you can always easily get back to CHU by tapping either the home button or the overlay button (see settings->startup options).
Car Home Ultra has many task automation features to setup your phone for use in the car. This includes: Auto Startup, Display Brightness control, volume control, WiFi settings, and more.

App Permission Descriptions: Device & App History – Required for the new Media Controller feature to detect if a media player is able to accept media requests.
Contacts/Calendar – This is required to setup a direct dial shortcut. Calendar is bundled with the contact permission.
Location – This is required to access the GPS for the speedometer, compass, altimeter, weather, etc…
Phone – This is required for the Direct Dial shortcut.
Photos/Media/Files – This is required for the Debug Log feature. Photos & Media are bundled with the permission, the app doesn’t need those.
Camera/Microphone – The app will need the microphone permission for any voice activated features in the future. It is required right now for the media player visualization feature. Attaching to the audio stream requires the mic permission. Camera is bundled with the mic permission, the app doesn’t use the camera.
Wi-Fi Connection – The app needs this permission to enable/disable Wi-Fi.

Best car environment to use. Keeps the music and navigation apps as they are, unlike android auto, that make Tidal, Spotify or Plex or Waze, Google Maps, etc. look weird. The only issue I have found is that on the music viewer page. The covers from Tidal do not work (controls do, but no covers). This doesn't happen with Plex, preamp, Tidal, Amazon Music, etc. All those show music covers fine. There is something with Tidal that makes it a bit incompatible. I hope someone fixes this issue.

Update: After years of use across a dozen different phones, Car Home Ultra has stopped launching on my Google Pixel 4 XL and forced me to switch. This complaint is not about the auto launch feature. The app simply will not open anymore. I would like to switch back, and I hope to hear that you guys fix this problem.

Once upon a time, this was my go-to app for auto interaction. Back then, my biggest complaint was the integration with the phone app. Now in 2021, there have been no updates in 2 years and definitely does play nice with Android 11. For instance, I have CHU exit when the initiating Bluetooth device shutdown. Or the least I thought it worked. Now, even with the Bluetooth device turned off, CHU keeps turning itself on until I do a force stop of the app. Not cool!
