Spotify Controller lets you control the real Spotify UI on your computer.

Requirements: * The official Spotify client must be installed on your computer. Please make sure that you can start Spotify and play music with it, prior to using SpotifyController. * Linux or Windows. For Linux you must use the the Linux version of Spotify (not the one running under Wine). We have tested SpotifyController on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Ubuntu. If you get it to work on other versions/platforms please inform us so we can update this information. * To be able to populate app with playlists/songs you must have the official Spotify app installed on your device.

To upgrade server: 1. Extract the new software to the same place. 2. Run the install script again.
Known limitations (Windows only): * Since the official Spotify client in Windows does not start playing playlists automatically, playlist loading is disabled from the app if you are running Windows.

Great Works Followed all instructions, downloaded the server onto my laptop as well as the app on my mobile. When running the server windows firewall pooped up a security box, I allowed this. Followed the set by set instructions on my mobile, it failed to detect the server automatically, I manually entered the IP address then it crashed what you actually need to do is also enter the port number below the IP address, this is show on the Spotify server on your pc, after I did this it worked fine. No problems at all, its a bit basic but does the job.

Potential Can play,pause,skip tracks that are already running but the Spotify application is crashing on my PC when I add a playlist using the phone app. UI is much better than competition, will try again in future. Windows Vista and HTC One X v.4.0.3

Garbage It says "Changing volume on your computer" but nothing happens on computer. All I can do is play/pause/forward/back and see current song. Can't search and choose songs. Even if volume worked I feel this is fairly useless. I consider it a very basic feature to pick what I wanna listen to next but can't do that. I don't use spotify for cellphones. I just want a proper remote for the computer.
