With STARWAVES DRM/DAB+ SoftRadio, you can enjoy any DRM and DAB+ live radio broadcast conveniently on your Android smartphone or tablet. No internet connection required. All you need is an SDR RF dongle or receiver connected via USB. DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale) is the only global digital radio standard, used in many countries for international broadcasts as well as national and local services. To learn more about DRM and its features, visit www.drm.org. DAB+ is widespread in Europe and also present in other regions. In Indonesia, for example, both standards are receivable. STARWAVES DRM/DAB+ SoftRadio is designed with user-friendliness in mind and supports all core DRM and DAB+ features: - Listener-centric and easy-to-navigate app design and user interface - Multiple interface languages currently supported: English, German, Simplified Chinese - Convenient frequency tuning and DRM/DAB+ service selection - DRM/DAB+ service labels and logos - Full metadata display: program/app type, language, country of origin, etc. - All audio codecs including xHE-AAC for DRM with optimized tuning performance for quick audio startup - Journaline, the advanced text application for DRM and DAB+, enables browsing of the latest news, sports, travel and weather updates, program information and schedules, remote learning / RadioSchooling textbooks, and more - Full Journaline functionality including hot buttons, geo-references, and embedded/linked images - Page content update notifications incl. menu updates, persistent caching for instant content access - DRM text messages incl. To receive live broadcasts, an SDR RF dongle must be connected to the device’s USB port (with host capability). The following SDR RF dongle families are currently supported, along with a range of tested models: - Airspy HF+ family: - Airspy HF Discovery, Airspy HF+ (Dual Port) (Note: Airspy Mini and R2 are NOT supported.) - SDRplay family: SDRPlay RSP1A, SDRPlay RSPdx, SDRPlay RSPduo, SDRPlay RSP1, SDRPlay RSP2, SDRPlay RSP2pro, MSI.SDR Panadapter - HackRF - RTL-SDR family: Experimental support for RTL-SDR-based RF dongles; requires a separate tool that launches automatically with this app (on port 14423).
