The cottage was very clean, warm,spacious and comfortable. I don't think there are enough crockery to make the dishwasher efficient, it can't be loaded due to not enough plates. The heated towel rail only worked 1 day, hot water very temperamental. I could have rung up to get it sorted so that's my own fault. The booking was easy I have booked with Sykes before they are always very helpful

Lovely Cottage everything you need and more. Very clean. Loved the outside area we took our own camping chairs luckily we had the sunny weather Had our meals on the table and bench in the garden and relax with a glass of wine in the chairs. The dogs loved it too. Even had dog dishes and toys plus dog bed. Thank you so much for a lovely stay

Terrible experience. My experience at Syke cottages was really pathetic. The owner of the property treated us disrespectfully and was throwing racist remark at us, and we were denied entry too. And we have also paid everything. After complaining at Syke cottages they did not act at all and favored the property owner itself. It almost felt like being a consumer we had no rights. If possible I would have given negative rating. I will never recommend Syke cottage to anyone. AIRBNB IS BEST.

Do your own research on cottage locations on Google Maps. Sykes will not allow a change even though they mislead with photos and description of location. Very let down by location description, spoke to a man Fred, who stated he was the "top man" at sykes, he was very dismissive and arrogant. Have booked through Sykes many times in the past, however I won't be booking through them again.

They recently started an only £20 deposit scheme, but if you have to pull out you don't just lose that they hit you with a percentage of the booking and their fee. In my case it could be nearly £170 pounds it's a win-win for both the agent and owner. Their fee £39 can claim again on a new booking, and the owner gets the rest and can rebook the property. It does mention it in the small print in red writing, so this is a heads-up to anyone thinking of the £20 scheme That's immediate in place
