It really is a much better alternative to discord, as it is just that without any of the bloatware, but (two) issues I have is that one I don't seem to get notifications when someone sends a message, I've checked my settings, and two, you cannot join a VC on mobile, which is a little annoying

I've seen some pretty negative reviews of this app. I can understand where they're based off of, but they're exaggerating. Would love to see voice chat and a couple other desktop app features, but other than that, great app! Edit: it would appear that GIFs don't play. As I use this app quite frequently when I'm away from home, being able to see what my friends are sending would be useful. Valve, if you put some more effort into this - heck, put HL3 on hold - you could rival Discord.

Since swapping to S26 Ultra I haven't been able to log in to the chat app, only says there was a problem logging you in, tried to clear cache didn't work, tried to clear data and relogin still same issue, works on my old pixel 8 pro

Its garbage can't even login after getting a notification from the app. Clearing cache all the way up to uninstallation and reinstallation with a reboot on between doesn't work. Was better off when chat was inside the main app. Valve has a bazillion dollar money printing machine but sucks at doing account other than taking a 30% cut of everything.

Worst idea ever making a separate app. I use a crazy password generator on pc to protect my library. How am I supposed to log in to the chat on mobile...

Every time I try to open steam chat for mobile it says "there was a problem logging you in" I can't use steam chat on my mobile devices anymore. What's the point of even having it installed on mobile anymore?
