STL Viewer AR: Print Preview

Before you spend four hours and half a spool on a print, find out what you are actually about to make.

STL Print Preview opens any .stl file on your phone, shows it in 3D, and places it in your room in augmented reality at its true printed size. Not a thumbnail, not a rough idea. The real thing, standing on your desk, so you can see whether that bracket is too chunky or that figurine is smaller than you pictured.

WHAT IT TELLS YOU

Real dimensions. Width, depth and height in millimetres or inches, read straight from the mesh.

Will it fit your printer. Pick your machine and get a straight answer. Ender 3, Bambu A1, P1S and X1C, Prusa MK4 and MINI, Creality K1, Elegoo Neptune 4, Anycubic Kobra 2 and more. If it only fits turned ninety degrees, it says so. If it is too big, it tells you the exact percentage to scale down to.

Filament, weight and cost. Choose PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, Nylon or resin, set your infill, and see the grams, the metres of filament and what it costs at your own spool price.

Scale it first. Drag the scale slider and every figure updates the way it would in a slicer. Handy for remembering that doubling the size uses roughly eight times the material.

Mesh health. Triangle count, file size, binary or ASCII, and a watertight check. If the mesh has holes, the app says the volume cannot be trusted rather than quietly giving you a wrong number.

SEE IT IN AR

Tap AR and the model is placed on your floor or desk at 1:1 scale through your camera. Walk around it. Hold it up against the shelf it has to sit on. This is the part no slicer gives you.

BUILT FOR 3D PRINTING

Reads both binary and ASCII STL. Handles the millimetre units STL is authored in and the Z-up orientation it uses, so models arrive the right way up at the right size. Everything is measured on your device, so it works offline and your files never leave your phone.

Open files straight from your file manager, email or downloads. Recent models are kept so you can jump back to what you were working on.
