The Stoney Language Dictionary is designed to preserve, protect and carry forward the Stoney language from generation to generation. Through the wisdom and guidance from the Elders of the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation, the dictionary is continually being updated with new words and definitions to help preserve the Stoney language for generations to come.
Audio Pronunciations Elders and language experts from the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation have dedicated time to recording audio pronunciation guides to assist those who wish to speak Stoney.
Search In Stoney or English The entire dictionary can be searched in either Stoney or English. Words can also be searched by category.
Word of the Day Enable push notifications to receive the word of the day. These helpful educational reminders will be your daily dose of learning the Stoney language.

Love using this app but gotta make sure you talk to someone before using Stoney cause you never know what you're trying to say lol. Like the bathroom for girl and boy means pissy girl and pissy boy 🤣🤣 I love that they pronounce the words for you because some of them are tricky! Especially those elder sounds.

Am I enjoying exploring app. Taking my time, listening to the language very clearly, through the speakers. Male and female nice. Cant find songs yet. Learning the stoney nakoda sioux so l can eavesdrop on my inlays.haha. Fun pastime. More pride develops. Eyes nice

I have been trying to download this app on many different devices, and so far, none of them seem to be working. All it says is "the stoney language dictionary needs to populate the app with the current blah blah blah." So I'm rating it,"Wazhi." I used it on an old phone before. Then it was a "Zabda." Now, I can not even go through it the app no more. It is basically useless. Someone fixes the problem asap.
