StudyNow: Focus & App Blocker

Stop Scrolling. Start Studying. StudyNow Gives You Back Control.
Every minute you lose to Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok is a minute you could have spent building your future. StudyNow is the most complete focus and study tool for Android — combining a powerful app blocker, Pomodoro study timer, internet firewall, and smart scheduler in one distraction-free package.
Used by students, professionals, and deep work practitioners who are serious about their goals.
🚀 WHY STUDYNOW BEATS OTHER FOCUS APPS
Most focus apps show you a timer. StudyNow actually blocks what's stopping you. No account required to get started — your core focus features work completely offline, locally, and privately from day one. Sign in only when you want to compete on the global leaderboard.
✨ CORE FEATURES
🎯 Intelligent App Blocking

Choose the apps that distract you most — Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, games, social media. When you attempt to open them during a focus session, StudyNow displays a clean overlay reminder to keep you on track. No willpower needed.
🌐 Local Internet Firewall (VPN)

Selectively block internet access for distracting apps while keeping essential research tools and browsers online. Uses a local VpnService only — no data is ever collected or sent off-device.
⏲️ Scientific Focus Modes

Three science-backed study methods built in:

— Standard Timer: Set a custom goal and go.

— Pomodoro (25/5): The gold standard for sustained productivity.

— Deep Work (50/10): Focus deeply for 50 minutes with dedicated concentration cycles.
📅 Automated Study Scheduler

Plan your week in advance. Set your study hours and StudyNow automatically activates focus mode based on your personal schedule — no manual start needed.
🆘 Emergency Access (SOS)

Life happens. Access a daily Emergency Bucket for blocked apps when you truly need them — giving you flexibility without losing discipline.
🔒 High-Discipline (Strict) Mode

For those who need an extra push. Prevents you from prematurely ending sessions, uninstalling the app, or bypassing your own rules. Blocks access to System Settings, Google Play Store, and Package Installer during active sessions.
🛠️ Companion Apps Support

Never get locked out of essentials. StudyNow automatically whitelists keyboards, camera, gallery, translation apps, and basic OS companion services — always accessible.
🏆 OPTIONAL: SIGN IN & GLOBAL LEADERBOARD
Want to compete? Sign in with Google to unlock:

— Global Focus Leaderboard: See how your study minutes stack up worldwide.

— Profile Sync: Your name, avatar, and focus statistics (total sessions, study minutes) securely synced via Supabase.

— Stay motivated by competing with students and professionals around the world.
No sign-in required for any core blocking or focus features. Your privacy is always protected.
🛡️ PRIVACY-FIRST PHILOSOPHY
Your habits are your business.

— Blocked app lists, focus logs, and device configurations are processed locally and never shared.

— Optional sync only activates when you choose to sign in.

— Firebase App Check secures the app and verifies integrity.

— Basic anonymous analytics help us improve the experience — nothing personal, nothing identifiable.
⚙️ PERMISSIONS — FULL TRANSPARENCY
To provide industry-leading protection, StudyNow requires specific permissions:

Usage Access — detects foreground apps and triggers the block mechanism locally.
VPN Service — powers the selective internet blocker locally, no external routing of your data.
Overlay (System Alert Window) — displays the focus reminder screen over restricted apps with real-time countdown.
Exact Alarm — ensures sessions start and end with millisecond precision.
Internet Access — used only for optional Google Sign-In, leaderboard sync, remote config, and support resources.
