A Pocket Guide to the names and descriptions of the main gods of Sumer mythology, in a simple and quick format.

The Sumerians were adherents of a polytheistic religion characterized by gods and anthropomorphic goddesses representing forces or presences in the material world, this notion quite present in the later Greek mythology. The gods originally created humans as servants for themselves, but freed them when they became too difficult to handle.

Many stories in Sumerian religion appear homologous to stories in other Middle Eastern religions. For example, the biblical idea of man's creation and the flood of Noah, are closely linked to the Sumerians tales. The gods and goddesses from Sumer have similar representations in the religions of the Akkadians, Canaanites and others. Similarly, a number of stories related to deities have Greek parallels; for example, Inanna's descent into the underworld is impressively connected to the myth of Persephone.

★★☆☆☆ Downloaded it. Wouldn't show pictures, wouldn't show words, nothing. It just froze. Woulda been cool, needs to be fixed. Oh, btw Ishtar (Innana) wasn't the daught of Anu either. I believe she was the granddaughter of ENIL. ✌️💙

★★☆☆☆ It's ok, pretty dumb though. Not enough mention that all these so-called deities were just slithery annulation lizard people. Hey, hey were annuals! We like to anu-naki around! We're too busy being interdimensional, to ever be seen above ground!

★★☆☆☆ I feel it's missing the other powers to help round out a more full understanding of what & how these legends mirror our activities to apply the wisdom. But for those new to these original legends before the bible notice what it's pointing to not the personality. We can learn from it.
