Comments on SunriseUp Wake Up Light Alarm Clock for Android

★★★★★ Very good effective. It would be perfect if the color tone of the light started more red like a sunrise and gradually became whiter.

★★★★★ Nice sounds, but the lights comes on abruptly. Maybe more of a gradient light would be best! Does the job though.

★★★★★ Thank you for making this app, it simple and to the point. However, I've opted away from using it because of a small but important flaw in its performance on my Samsung galaxy s7. The initial level of both brightness and volume is too high and instead of gradually waking me up, I wake up immediately. The initial level of brightness should be 0% - completely black. Basically just show a black screen - in HSV color space just set value to 0. Sound should likewise be 0% initially.

★★☆☆☆ Doesn't work. Two mornings in a row - no birds chirping, no screen changes (except for right now as in typing and have it open in the background it's going light then dark over and over). Seems buggy. God Uninstaller. I still had my Samsung alarm set. Uninstalling.

★★☆☆☆ Doesn't work with your phone turned off. I don't know about others, but I tend to turn my phone off at night, and so, I need my phone to turn on and wake me up. This app does not do that, it only works when your phone is already turned on. Pointless...

★★☆☆☆ Wanted to love it... I love how low-key this app is, and straightforward, but I think the problem is that it can't draw over other apps so when the app activates it does not come to the foreground of my screen. It also does not seem to be able to overcome the lock screen so I would have to leave my phone unlocked all night, which wouldn't be that big of a deal, except that when this app activates it does not come to the foreground so there's no light change.

Description by Hoffman Applications Written by the developer, not by AppBrain. Click to read.

Do you have problems getting out of bed when it is still dark or when your curtains are still closed? Not anymore! SunriseUp Wake Up Light Alarm Clock will use your phone to simulate the sunrise before your alarm will ring. The light emitted from the screen will trigger your brain to wake up as naturally as with a real sunrise. The app has the same fluent flow as a real sunrise going from yellow to white, and by smoothly increasing the brightness of your screen. The flashlight of your device can be turned on upon the ringing alarm to create extra light. You can now wake up with a sunrise every morning, without having to purchase a wake up light.

The wake up light alarm clock interface is simple and straightforward. The volume levels can be increased gradually instead of suddenly ringing your alarm, let your device vibrate on alarm, and set a decreasing snooze time for every time you snooze so you will have to get up! You can choose from several different sounds to wake up: from relaxed chirping birds and natural sounds, to a motivating Haka or a nuclear alarm sound, there is a perfect sound for every type of sleeper!
