Check engine light on? SWISSDIAG PRO reads your car's standard OBD2 fault codes and explains the generic codes: more than 9,500 codes described in English, French and German, offline.
Compatible ELM327 or STN adapter required (not supplied): Bluetooth SPP or BLE; Wi-Fi experimental. PRO: a one-time in-app purchase, no subscription.
Without a purchase
• Adapter memorised, protocol automatic or chosen; vehicle identification (VIN if the vehicle provides it), confirmation before the scan.
• Confirmed and pending standard OBD codes with their states, engine warning light (MIL); freeze frame of the fault if available.
• "Google ↗" link under each standard OBD code shown: search in the browser, on request, without the VIN.
• Fault reported by a control unit outside standard OBD: stated in a sentence, without a code; the result is then never green.
• No score and no green before the codes are read; unread codes reported as "incomplete read", never counted as 0.
• "Ready for the inspection? (OBD part)": a three-colour indication, without exhaust gas measurement, never green unless the fault codes were read; only the inspector decides.

With the PRO licence
• Permanent codes (mode 0A); without a purchase, they are only counted.

• Full live data: up to 53 standard OBD parameters depending on the vehicle; four 3-minute charts with scales.
• Status by system, observations and related checks, for guidance only.
• Trips (vehicle connected and confirmed, app in the foreground): GPS track without a basemap, speed, altitude, CSV.
• Black Box: up to 5 minutes before and 2 minutes after a manual trigger during a trip or a driving alert, CSV and PDF.
• PDF reports in the app language (EN, FR, DE): diagnostics (standard OBD codes read, VIN masked), before clearing, trips, Live Snapshot; charts with scales.
Licence verified online: open the app with an Internet connection at least once every 30 days (14-day grace period); usable as long as the purchase remains valid with Google Play.
Compatibility
OBD-II/EOBD vehicles on CAN and classic protocols (ISO 9141/KWP2000: experimental); results depend on the vehicle, model year, protocol, control units and adapter. Manufacturer control units are partly read, read-only (11-bit CAN; J1850 VPW for some vehicles), without showing their codes; otherwise standard OBD-II.
Data
The VIN, locations, trips, captures and reports stay on the device. Only two transmissions go to the SWISSDIAG server in Switzerland: with PRO, the purchase verification and, after a completed scan of a confirmed vehicle, an anonymous discovery report (including make, model, control units, fault codes), without the VIN, number plate, location, time or any identifier of the device or account. Nothing is sent without explicit consent (in Switzerland, a screen at first start; elsewhere, a question after the first scan). The choice can be changed in the settings; declining removes no diagnostic function. No advertising, no audience measurement.
Known limits
A diagnostic aid: it does not replace the manufacturer's documentation, the warning lights or a professional. With no code shown, a fault is still possible. The only command that changes the vehicle is standard code clearing (mode 04); no coding or reprogramming. USB, DoIP, CAN FD and J1939 are not supported; OBD over UDS only (J1979-2) is not read. Do not operate while driving.
