Update 15th November 2022: the same problem has occurred again. Alerts on phone version, but no alerts on tablet. This was previously fixed, but has suddenly started to be a problem again. For information phone Galaxy Note 20. Tablet Galaxy Tab S6. Displays alert for 1cmessage but after reading it tablet messenger logs out and no message alerts appear until the app is open. Despite background check being active

I have noticed that although "When pressing Enter in WhatsApp line break" is set to ON, my tablet now ignores this setting. Every time I tap the Enter key it sends the message... I have a Galaxy Tab S2, running Android 7.0. Any idea how I can fix this?

I installed tablet messenger so that I could read my WhatsApp messages on a larger screen my phone screen is a little small. I didn't want to give notification permission since my phone would give the notification. Tablet messenger started flashing a warning that notifications were not on, and I couldn't get the flashing to stop. It didn't matter which button I pressed, no response from my tablet. I had to uninstall.
