TapGuide: Step-by-Step Guides

Guides that write themselves. So anyone knows exactly where to tap.

Do the task once on your phone. TapGuide turns every tap into a clear step with an annotated screenshot, ready to share in seconds. No screen-recording videos, no cropping screenshots, no writing it all out by hand.

CAPTURE WORK AS IT HAPPENS
Get know-how out of your head and into a guide anyone can follow.

• Document work without any work: press Record, use any app as you normally would, press Stop. Your guide is ready.
• Every tap becomes a step: a screenshot from just before you tapped, the button highlighted, and the instruction already written, like "Tap Transfer on the Home screen".
• Capture the work (and the typing): fields you type into become steps too. TapGuide saves the field name, never what you typed.

POLISH IT IN SECONDS
• Reorder steps with a drag. Merge, delete or reword them.
• Move the highlight, crop the screenshot, add your own screenshots.
• Blur anything private. The blur is burned into every image you export.

DELIVER IN EVERY FORMAT
Everyone gets the right guide, in the right tool.
• PDF for email, print and chat.
• Markdown or HTML with images, ready to paste into your help center, Zendesk, Intercom, Notion or Confluence.
• Share through any app on your phone.

BUILT FOR EVERY WORKFLOW
• Train your team on the apps they use every day
• Onboard new hires with step-by-step instructions
• Roll out new mobile apps and tools
• Answer "how do I...?" support questions with a guide instead of a long message
• Write SOPs and work instructions for field and frontline teams
• Help family and customers with their phones

PRIVACY, BUILT IN
• No account, no cloud, no ads, no analytics. TapGuide has no internet access at all.
• Guides stay on your phone until you export them.
• Recording runs only between Record and Stop, with a notification and a floating bubble visible the whole time.
• Password and PIN screens pause recording automatically. Block any app you never want recorded.
• Delete all data with one tap.

WHY TAPGUIDE USES THE ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE
TapGuide uses Android's Accessibility service to know which button you tapped and what it's called, so it can write each step for you. It does this only while you are recording. It reads button labels and app and screen names. It never reads passwords or PINs, anything outside a recording, or apps on your block list. Nothing is sent anywhere. TapGuide also asks for screen capture permission to take the screenshot for each step.

Do it once. Share it forever.

Recent changes:
Recorded steps are more accurate: no extra steps from switches, and each step names the right screen. The recording bubble is now removed from your screenshots instead of blurred. After you turn on Accessibility, a clear confirmation screen appears, and setup skips the notifications step if you already allowed it.
