Description

Broiler yetiştiriciliğinde performans oldukça önemlidir. Tüm Dünya’da performansı belirlemek için çeşitli hesaplamalar yapılmaktadır. Broiler yetiştiriciliğinde en çok kullanılan performans kriterleri FCR ve EPEF olarak adlandırılan değerlerdir. Dünya’daki birçok firma için önemli bir kriter olan bu değerlere göre performans hesaplanır ve verimlilik değerlendirilir.

Ülkemizde broiler yetiştiriciliği çoğunlukla fason üretim olarak adlandırdığımız üretim şekline göre yapılır. Firmalar yetiştiricilere civciv, yem ve diğer hizmetleri verir. Dönem sonunda performansa göre yetiştiriciye ücret öder. Bu performansın değerlendirilmesinde FCR ve EFEF oldukça önemlidir.
EPEF ise European Efficiency Productivity Factor kelimelerinin kısaltılmasıdır.

Türkçe’ye ise Avrupa Verimlilik Endeksi olarak geçmiştir. Yine broiler yetiştiriciliğinde önemli bir değerdir. Aslına bakarsanız FCR değerinin verimliliği hesaplamada yetersiz kalmasının tespit edilmesi ile beraber ortaya çıkmış bir kriterdir.

FCR’a bakarak verimlilik hesabı yaparken ortalama canlı ağırlık, ortalama kesim yaşı, ölüm oranı gibi kriterler dikkate alınmıyordu. Bunun neticesinde 1,600 FCR’a sahip ama 1.750 kg ortalama canlı ağırlığa sahip bir sürü 1,700 FCR’a sahip ama ortalama 2.450 kg canlı ağırlığa sahip bir sürüden daha verimli gibi görünüyordu. Oysa ki firma için 2. seçenek FCR yüksek olmasına karşı daha karlıydı. Yine ölüm oranları ve ortalama kesim yaşı da önemliydi. Bunlar göz önünde bulundurularak EPEF ortaya çıktı.
