Comments on The Current for Android

★★★★★ Sandra Musielewicz · Jul 11, 2019

Music is powerful. The stations' 4th of July 'A to Z playlist' helped me out of a really bad headspace I was going through - you saved my life. Thank ya'll & much love to all the good folks that get this rockin' station on the air!

★★★★☆ T G · Apr 10, 2023

I've noticed recently there are problems with casting stream to Chromecast speaker from your app. I use the couple of different apps and all cast music correctly (on Android 13). Is there some general issue with your app at the moment?

★★★★★ Matt Hansen · Jan 20, 2021

Not sure where all the negative reviews for ad breaks are coming from, I've been a user for about 6 years now and have had no issues. I get 1-2 adds at the start of the stream and then no interruptions from there for hours of listening. I use this to listen to the current daily!

★☆☆☆☆ Nica Tee · Oct 29, 2020

I love The Current. I am a member and contribute monthly. I really want to give the app a better rating. However, the constant ad interruptions are incredibly frustrating. I always miss a favorite song because of this, and then I have to listen to 3 more ads before the next song. There are more ads in this app than on the actual station. This is the third time I have tried the app. I uninstalled it previously because of the ad interruptions. They have only gotten worse. Uninstalling again.

★★☆☆☆ Sue Wagner · May 26, 2026

I love listening to The Current, especially to start my day. The recent app update constantly stops playing on my Android phone in the app and in a browser. Please fix this issue! As a sustaining member I want to continue to listen to the great music!

★☆☆☆☆ Dave DuJour · Aug 14, 2026

I love The Current and have been a member since Day 1,2005. This app hangs and has to be force reset almost every time I want to listen to the stream. It also often loses connection and buffers. All I'm looking for is a reliable way to listen to my favorite radio station. This isn't it. I may have to buy an FM radio.
